Reporting Power Outages

Stay Away From Downed Power Lines!

Power outages can occur for a variety of reasons. Typically outages occur due to lightning, tree limbs, animals coming into contact with the line, or from equipment malfunction.

IF YOU LOSE POWER:

Before calling the Cooperative during a power outage check your breakers or fuses in your house to make sure they are on.

Check the breaker below the meter at your meter pole to determine it is on.

Check with your neighbors to see if they have power.

If the problem appears to be on the Cooperative’s lines please give us a call. Do not assume that we know you do not have power.

Call BCEC at 1-800-286-5636 or (417) 682-5636, 24 hours a day to report your outage. Please provide the following to the dispatcher:
Name of Person/Company the Account Is Listed

Tell the dispatcher any flashes or unusual noises that may help identify the source of the problem.
